Former Arsenal Player Stewart Robson says Alvaro Morata would have been better signing than Alexandre Lacazette

Robson isn't convinced the France international has the consistency to be a world-class forward
Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson believes the Gunners missed a trick in not signing Alvaro Morata or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
And claims that the club's new £52million forward Alexandre Lacazette is not consistent enough to be a top-class player.
The Gunners, who had been linked with a number of strikers this transfer window, signed the ex-Monaco man on a five-year deal.
He made his debut in a pre-season friendly against Sydney, were he got himself on the score sheet after coming on as a second half substitute.
Meanwhile Chelsea moved for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who is currently in London ahead of a £67million move.
The Blues had been linked with Romelu Lukaku before turning their attention to the Spaniard and stepping up their pursuit of the player.
And Robson believes the Gunners should have perhaps done the same, targeted Morata, or Dortmund's Aubameyang, over the signing they made.
"Lacazette, I've seen him on many occasions," Robson told ESPN. "I'm not convinced he's got the consistency, or the work rate, or the hard graft to be a top-class player.
"I went to watch him a couple of times for another manager and I came back with a report that he wasn't quite good enough to play at the top level.
"I was surprised they bought him rather than Aubameyang, or went for Morata, or somebody like that but they went for Lacazette."
